Flash on the iPhone? What's the big fuss? Many sites use Flash? Only lame ones! I can't think of a single valuable site that uses flash really. Youtube maybe? But hey, Flash as cool a technology as it is, is probably better off just dying a quick death as stated by the commentator at the end of this article.
It's not that Flash is terrible. It's that it was designed to do what early browsers could not on their own. Now that browsers can do it on their own, I think it's time for web developers to retire this technology. It doesn't integrate with browsers without installing their plugin, takes a bunch of cpu, and usually looks gaudy and overdone. I for one would prefer to see sites just use Javascript if they need that kind of functionality.
What's that you say? Flash not being supported on iPhone will take it down? Not likely. The fact is, Apple has strict rules in place as to what and how code is executed on their phones so that they can promise some level of security and bug free operation. I think you'll end up finding a crap load more hacks on future android based phones than you will on the iphone. Which brings me to the last thing. I think most people whom buy or are more attracted to the android style phone are in some ways synonymous with Windows users in that they want complete control of what runs on their phone regardless of threats of security, performance, or otherwise.

I could care less about Flash being supported on the iPhone!
