Just because you can set your account to "friends only" doesn't mean someone can't look into your account's details. Why waste your time filling out your private information on the internet in attempt to find online friends when you can just talk to real friends without the danger involved? Sure, there aren't a HUGE amount of sob stories regarding to these sites, but why risk it in the first place?
Cheers to that. I suppose they could create groups to further separate out the people in your "friends" lists, but that would probably just add to the confusion.
