CBS is anti-abortion and anti gay rights?

Strange, CBS like all the other major networks had always said they would not allow advertising of political interest groups, especially during the superbowl but I guess this year is different!  Interestingly enough, it has nothing to do with money either!  Apparently, CBS has rejected an online gay community site as they found it to be too offensive and controversial for superbowl viewers.  Here's the video below:

So, I'm not gay, but I don't find that commercial offensive in any way, shape, or form.  I guess it's just offensive to our religious viewers whom have interpreted parts of the bible the way that seems to fit their personal views.  How convenient.

Now I'm thinking, well, hey maybe CBS just doesn't want to stir things up.  Keep the controversial issues off the table right?  Wrong.  They will go ahead and air this anti-abortion commercial which for what ever reason they don't feel is controversial even though roughly 50% of the voting public dissagrees with this view.  Here's a report about the company that wishes to pay for such an expensive ad just to support the "sliver" sized portion of that groups interest.

If you are a public channel like CBS I think you need to air them all or just don't air them at all.  If you start to pick and choose, you turn television into an active lobby for one position or another and that could get really ugly as it already has on cable networks.

I for one am appauled by CBS's approach to dealing with politically charged commercials and hope they realize the only thing left to do is either air both commercials or none at all!
