The value of having a full, ACTUAL keyboard along with being able to customize and write your own applications makes the G1 a stand-out better choice.

Assuming you mean "Disagree" = iPhone.

It's not only the hardware experience that makes iPhone better. The touchscreen on the iPhone is amazing and it auto corrects your text, so there really isn't any need for the bulk and non-solid feeling of a flip out, micro-sized keyboard. That was the point with the touchscreen. Other makers (and of course this is just my opinion) but other makers seem to feel the need to include them, largely because their touch screens are not effectively designed.
If you make a good interface and have good hardware to back it up, there is no need for flip out boards. That's the first reason.
The second reason I think you'll find more happy iPhone users is the amount and quality of software available for free and one touch of a button. I could be anywhere and I hit a single button and I instantly have new software. The network Apple has put together for software support really is unlike any other.
Lastly, most people have iPods already. Why charge two devices when you can have them both in one?

I think it's pretty clear most makers are doing their best just to copy iPhone in nearly every way they can. 5 years ago, nobody was using touch interfaces and now they all are. Also, interestingly, they've all gone to an iPhone shape with rounded edges, more screen, fewer buttons etc.

I'm not an Apple fanatic. There are many and I agree they are annoying. But the iPhone really is an amazing device and the network that supports it is unlike any other.
