The US should quit threatening IRAN and actually take action before it's too late

How long are we going to threaten Iran with sanctions that we can't get the other countries to go along with. We should take some kind of action to prove to them we mean business or else we will be fighting them after they get a nuclear weapon. Why do we always wait until the situation is desparate when we could have settled it earlier and with less consequences.
