Tiger Woods would be better off just giving the public some explanation of his accident!

I don't understand why Tiger Woods doesn't just give the public some explanation of his accident.  Giving no explanation just leaves people to suspect the worst.  He's already been under the gun as being suspected of cheating on his wife.  Why let people suspect even more?  If you really are innocent, why not just tell the public what happened?  I'm fully supportive of keeping private life, private, but this happened in the public, on public property and he's given the police department nothing in terms of an explanation.

Would the average Joe get off with such silence?  I think not.  The police department would be knocking your door down for answers!  Here's what you get when you don't just tell people what's going on!
